All that was missing was the official announcement. In the end, it arrived on Saturday morning in Portimao, a few minutes after the end of the FP3. Tom Sykes will continue to ride the BMW S 1000 RR in 2020. The British rider, who followed of the development of the German bike from the very first stage, was also confirmed for next season.

 

A we already know, he’ll have a new teammate at his side, namely Eugene Laverty who, at the end of the year will separate from Go Eleven: "As you well know, we are only at a first step with this new bike, but I’m happy with the results achieved so far,” said Tom. "It’s with great joy that I welcome the news of my renewal with BMW. Next season we’ll continue to work towards growing, and I’m excited to welcome someone like Eugene to our garage."
