The Barcelona GP is at risk for Luca Marini. The Forward team rider is not in the best shape after crashing during the Le Mans race and injuring his left shoulder, which is still very swollen.
Marini gritted his teeth at Mugelo and, despite his condition, was able to close in 6th place, a feat in itself. Unfortunately Luca has not had long to recover ahead of Barcelona and a crash this morning in FP1 has definitely not helped.
The Montmeló track requires some hard braking and also has many potholes, two features that will make it tough for the rider, who still doesn't have a lot of strength in his injured arm.
This afternoon he completed just 3 laps in FP2, finishing in last place. Over the coming hours a decision will be made as to whether Marini will continue to race or stop and rest so as to arrive at Assen in perfect shape.
