MotoGP: Qatar test: here's the new Ducati fairing!

Ducati has finally decided and debuted the prototype of its new fairing during day two of testing in Qatar. The Bolognese technicians, in recent years, put a lot of time and effort into the winglets and, as a result, the Desmosedici was the bike most affected by the subsequent banning of said winglets.

Dall'Igna and his men raced to find a solution, and it's one that definitely doesn't go unnoticed.

The Italian engineers have designed a fairing with two air ducts at the sides and in addition the upper profile is concave, all strategies to try and obtain aerodynamic load at the front. In some ways it recalls the solution adopted by Aprilia, though the concept is taken to an extreme on the Desmosedici.

You can see the fairing from two angles in the images above and here alongside (the latter published by motogp.com).

To see how it performs, we'll have to keep an eye on the stopwatch and wait for Dovizioso's comments, as the new front fairing has been mounted on his bike.
