In 2027, with the abolition of ride height devices, the situation will improve, because the MotoGP bikes, with 50 hp less, will no longer start like dragsters.

For sure, the start and the first corners are the most dangerous moments of a Grand Prix, especially when the first corner is far from the grid due to the obvious fact that they reach the braking point at higher speeds.

Braking is always difficult to calibrate, with the fork fully compressed, and it is easy to make a mistake by just a few centimeters, which is enough to trigger a collision.

The solutions to improve this situation, however, are simple and since there is more than one, it is incomprehensible why nothing has been done until now.

The first, the simplest and most obvious, is to move the starting grid forward, thereby reducing the speed of approach to the first corner.

However, there is another that should be adopted regardless: changing the grid setup to a 2-2 arrangement instead of 3-3, while simultaneously increasing the distance between rows.

We should remember that in the past, during the 500cc two-stroke era, the grid was organized with as many as five riders in the front row, but at that time, they started by pushing and the riders quickly spread out, even though this caused a different kind of danger: if a bike didn't start, there was the risk of being hit by those following.

Given that in MotoGP, they are excellent at making decisions... the day after, it is unclear why they do not implement both these solutions. Making a less crowded starting grid permanent.
