22 riders from 8 different nationalities for a total of 14 teams! These are the numbers of Superbike 2026, which will start the season next February at Phillip Island. Dorna today released the entry list, and on this occasion there is one item of news that does not escape scrutiny.
It regards Andrea Iannone, about whom so much has been talked about in recent months regarding his future. As we had already anticipated, The Maniac was working to put together a structure of his own and, apparently, the operation seems to have gone through, although there is no official communication from the person concerned.
It is a fact however that the team with which the #29 will appear is Cainam Racing Team, a name never heard before in the paddock. After trying to investigate, however, always hoping we are not mistaken, if we read the name backwards, it would all make sense, namely Maniac, the nickname of Andrea that everyone knows.
Aside from Iannone, in the provisional list released by Dorna, the Honda MIE team, which would be the satellite team of the Japanese manufacturer, is missing from the roll call. However, this is only a provisional entry list, pending the final one, which will arrive in early February, just before the start of the World Championship.
Otherwise everything is confirmed as expected with as many as 10 Italians in action!
