Danilo Petrucci isn't the only rider who'll have to miss the final round of the 2025 World Superbike season. Just like the Barni team rider, Dominique Aegerter was also declared unfit by the doctors and won't be able to participate in the race weekend at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, since he fractured the fifth metacarpal of his right hand during a training accident. This was the same injury that prevented him from taking part in the last round in Estoril and for which he underwent surgery.
With the Swiss rider forced to prematurely end the season and his collaboration with the GRT team, which will be lining up Stefano Manzi next year - with Remy Gardner, who was also confirmed - the team directed by Filippo Conti will be relying on Alessandro Delbianco for the Andalusian round. Alessandro is an old acquaintance of the team.
In fact, back in 2024, the reigning CIV Superbike champion had already gotten the chance to race in the Superbike World Championship with one of the GRT team's Yamahas, replacing both Aegerter at Magny-Cours and Gardner at Jerez. But the two replacements weren't the only appearances in the championship for the Rimini-born rider. He had also raced a wild card at Cremona with Motoxracing last year.
