Toprak and Bulega, the great role players of this World SBK Championship are separated by 36 points, when there are only two rounds left to the end of the season. Aragon risked being a decisive divide for the sprint towards the championship win, and Nicolò managed to stop the Turkish rider's unstoppable race, once again finding that victory he had no longer reached since Most.
It may not have been a decisive one-two for the fate of this Championship, but it was certainly a clear signal, which keeps Nicolò's hopes alive. The same hopes that accompany Stefano Manzi, who's ready to get his hands on the SSP title thanks to a 60-point margin over Oncu.
THE GOOD - We can only thank them for the great show they gave us. Overtaking, counter-overtaking, braking to the limit. A good fair challenge, without going over the edge. This duel between Toprak and Bulega - undisputed stars of this World Championship, with a finale that'syet to be written - left us with a wonderful message.
THE UGLY - Saturday was stopped by a problem, then it was nightfall. Aragon was, undoubtedly, the most disappointing weekend since the beginning of the season to date for Remy Gardner. We hope he'll find his way back to the straight and narrow, starting in Estoril.
THE BAD - Iker Lecuona was able to get back on the circuit after a two-month hiatus, and his presence certainly didn't go unnoticed. The Spanish rider was very clear in expressing his thoughts about Andrea Iannone. Hopefully, time will be able to ease the disagreements between the two.
THE DISAPPOINTMENT - Maybe it's best if they turn the page and start again. Yari Montella's weekend in Aragon was nightmarish, so we don't want to rub it in. He definitely needs to change course as we approach the season finale.
THE CONFIRMATION - Stefano Manzi is using a saber and foil in the title race. When he can, he attacks, otherwise he maximizes. He'll be going to Estoril with a 60-point margin over Oncu. Everything's ready for the party!
THE ERROR - At Turn 7, with 7 laps to go, he was denied a finale he could've enjoyed. That's when Bulega took advantage of Toprak's mistake to create a rift and race to the victory in Race 2.
THE SURPRISE - He had won a year ago but, this time, he ended up in a completely opposite scenario. The fact remains that, since Phillip Island, this was Andrea Iannone's best weekend. The Maniac needed it, as well as Go Eleven, after a year marked by disappointments and difficulties.
THE OVERTAKE - Bulega on Toprak, the overtake in the Superpole Race, was decisive in giving him the victory.
THE ANECDOTE - There's always a first time, and this was Valentin Debise's. He conquered his first historic success in SSP in Aragon, giving Renzi Corse a dreamlike Saturday. An applause to him and the tricolor team, which reaped what it sowed. At the same time, we have to mention Barni, winner of the independent title.
THE I TOLD YOU SO - "In Aragon, there's a risk that it could end up like Magny-Cours." Serafino Foti had doubts and concerns on the eve of the Motorland round. In the end, Nicolò took care of chasing them away.
