Ducati is still grappling with the choice of a second rider. It certainly won't be Danilo Petrucci, who will ride with BMW next year.
Despite his current third place in the World Championship and the performance he has shown, the Borgo Panigale factory has never considered the man from Terni as an option.
On the subject, we therefore questioned Serafino Foti, on the occasion of the Balaton round, who wanted to clarify a few points: "We make thoughtful choices and discussed the situation together - he told us - and as a result our decision was not to bet on Petrucci. Obviously hats off to Danilo, who has always shown great potential this season, fighting for podiums and top positions. We, however, made a different consideration, projected into the future. At the moment, however, no choice has been made."
The names circulating to to team up with Bulega are several, and among them there is also consideration of rediscussing the renewal of Alvaro Bautista, who was sent a cancellation in mid-June. On the subject Serafino Foti would not comment: "These are confidential things and I cannot say more. I'm sorry, but I can't say anything."
