Danilo Petrucci didn't get on the podium in Race 2 at Balaton. It was a Sunday with a bitter aftertaste for the Barni rider, who finished 4th. Petrux was,, in fact forced to make a comeback in the afternoon following the difficulties je encountered in the Superpole Race because he chose the medium tire.
"I'm really happy to go on vacation after this weekend," he said. "This round was chaotic but, in the end, we did it. I got the tire wrong in the Superpole this morning, and all that affected my performance with the choice of the medium. I then tried to recuperate in race two but with seven laps to go, I had a problem with my helmet. My visor was all wet from sweating and that's why I didn't get on the podium. I don't know the reason. It's the first time something like this has happened. I'm probably getting old."
Today everything went smoothly at the start.
"There were no problems, maybe because there were fewer riders on the track. Like I said yesterday, there are several tracks with layouts like these, and it's not bad."
Did you talk to Iannone?
"No, I didn't talk to him. I was in the clinic all afternoon yesterday because of my shoulder. Fortunately, I was better this morning, and I thank everyone at the mobile clinic. I don't think Andrea did it on purpose, but you have to be careful."
Regarding your future, have you made a decision?
"Tomorrow I'll be going to Milan for a neck check-up and, on Wednesday, I'll talk to Barni, but nothing has been decided."
What do you think about this BMW?
"I honestly wouldn't know if it's the same situation like when Marquez was with Honda. I don't know if the BMW is like the Honda and Toprak is like Marc. Certainly, Van der Mark hasn't reached the maximum potential but, unfortunately, I don't know the inside dynamics. It reminds me of the time when only Marc could win with that bike or Stoner with Ducati. It's hard to understand because, if you look at Toprak, everything becomes easy, while Van der Mark is struggling a lot. Let's not forget that Michael has been on the podium on several occasions."
