The last time we saw him racing on a track was in 2023 when he took part in the Silverstone round of the SBK, replacing Michael Van Der Mark on his BMW. Now, Tom Sykes is preparing to compete again, starting with the Donington round of the British Superbike Championship scheduled for next weekend.
The 39-year-old will be getting on the IN Competition team's Aprilia RSV4, left vacant by Lewis Rollo who was knocked out after a fall during a test session at Navarra. " I was contacted by Pete Jennings and immediately accepted, knowing it was a great opportunity. It's going to be a great experience to be able to help the team without pressure. I really like the track, but I've never tried a Noale bike, so I'm eager to ride it," he said during the announcement.
And to get back in the swing of things, the English rider was given the opportunity to take part in a private test. "I was able to get some laps under by belt and started to see the potential of the bike. The initial feeling is good," he wrote on Instagram.
