The second installment of 'Dream On: Ducati and Bagnaia's Pursuit of Glory' chronicles the Sepang Grand Prix and you can watch it above. The weekend had opened with terrible news, that of the flooding in Valencia. Pecco immediately took a stand against the possibility of keeping the final round of the championship: "they are crazy, you know I will say that I will not race in Valencia," he warned before appearing for interviews. He kept his word, even getting thanks from his rivals, such as Aleix Espargarò: "he has a lot of courage and a big heart."
The last GP would be moved to Barcelona, but Bagnaia had to build on the track to fight for the title at Montmeló. After taking pole position, he crashed in the Sprint. In his office, he took the blame for that mistake: "Jorge was better, he won, period. Tomorrow is another day and we will see. Anyway, things when they have to go one way go one way. He doesn't go down, I always go down. That's the reality of the situation."
On Sunday, Martin had his first match point. The race was stopped due to a crash in the first few corners, but Jorge had time to show he was not afraid to play hardball. At the first braking turn, the front wheel of his Ducati grazed Pecco's foot.
"If I end up with my foot underneath it will break my leg," commented Bagnaia looking back at the images in the box before the second start. Team manager Davide Tardozzi motivated him in his own way, "he will be very tough on you, so let's get bitchy about it."
The advice seems to have paid off, because Bagnaia and Martin gave ride to a great duel in the first laps. In the end Pecco prevailed, his 10th win of the season. "I'm the one with the most wins without being first in the championship, it's a new record," was his ironic comment.
