One of the reasons of great interest aroused by the first MotoGP test in view of 2025 could only be the entry of Marc Marquez in the official Ducati team. A debut eagerly awaited since last June, when the Borgo Panigale manufacturer announced the Catalan rider as Francesco Bagnaia's teammate for the next two years.
A great admirer of his since he raced under the Repsol Honda team banner, team manager Davide Tardozzi could only welcome with joy the arrival in his box of a rider of the calibre of the eight-time world champion.
"A team like the one we have, with Bagnaia and Marquez, I think it can only hold up against the one formed by Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. I don't think there has been another team of this level in recent history," commented the former rider from Ravenna, speaking to the Spanish publication AS on the eve of the test day in Barcelona.
On closer inspection, the "dream team" formed by Lorenzo and Marc himself in 2019 was more titled than the current lineup fielded by Ducati, but Tardozzi is convinced that his team can achieve results superior to those obtained by the Honda duo. Also in consideration of the talents, not only sporting, of the eldest of the Marquez brothers.
"I think Marquez is a great rider because he is also a great person and, in my opinion, he has the intelligence to listen, reason, know what you are going to say and prepare the next answer. He has an overall vision that gives him the ability to have everything ready. The person is in perfect communion with the rider. To be a great rider, you also have to be a great person. Otherwise there is weakness," the Italian manager noted, "He is not Einstein, he is not the president of the government, but he is one step ahead."
