The veils have come off the KB998, the new bike with which the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team will debut in winter testing at Jerez on Tuesday, October 22.
Created in collaboration with Bimota, the all-new KB998 represents a real break with the past, mounting a Kawasaki engine inside a frame designed and built by Bimota. This is a joint collaboration that fits within a larger global development project of the Bimota brand.
The revolutionary scope of the new bike contrasts with the continuity experienced within the rebranded BbKRT team, where the team, riders and staff remain the same as last season. Starting with team manager, Guim Roda.
"Of course there has been a lot of work to do behind the scenes, to get to the eve of the presentation of the new bike and the first track test. Having Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani on board as riders, along with the relevant teams and support staff, means that we can focus on our main tasks, which are to test our new KB998 and accumulate data through a test program, which will begin tomorrow and will extend through the winter, keeping to the limitations to testing set by BWO and the FIM ," said Roda. "This is a new bike, which will require our utmost commitment. We are excited to be part of this fascinating project and honored to take on the responsibility of making the new Bimota KB998 perform as quickly as possible."
