Adrian Huertas did something truly incredible this morning during the warm-up in wet conditions of the World Supersport Championship at Magny-Cours. We're not talking about his of 1'58"480 time, with which he hit the best of the round, trimming 2"2 from his rival, Yari Montella, but about his resounding rescue in the pouring rain.
An authentic feat, which allowed the Aruba Racing team rider to regain control of his Panigale V2 by smashing through a trackside billboard, in order to avoid a ruinous, and potentially dangerous, fall.
Nothing seemed to be able to stop Huertas this weekend, after he secured the pole position on Friday afternoon by stopping the clock at 1'39"705. A time that allowed him to get the better of a large group of rivals, formed by home rider, Lucas Mahias, and also Jorge Navarro, Montella, and Stefano Manzi, by more than a tenth.
