MotoGP: Dovizioso crashes in motocross: broken right wrist

Motocross is his great passion and Dovizioso, who recently became manager of the Monte Coralli track, doesn't shy away from it when it comes to jumping.

Unfortunately with jumps, and above all landings, you don't mess around, and Dovi has realised this as he posted on facebook the result of his recent mishap: a broken wrist. Here's what he writes:

"There's this new fashion that the motocross riders are following: to show their fractures. And I, who feel like a bit of a motocross rider, couldn't help but be 'on trend'...and I decided to play the wrist fracture card (well broken, of course). A couple of hours of fear, but that's part of the game The important thing is that I'm OK and have no permanent damage. Yesterday I was lucky enough to have been close to, and to meet, some people whom it is now time to thank. The first, heartfelt thank you goes to the head of the UOC, Prof. Federico Lamponi, and to all the staff of the Murri Hospital in Fermo. You were prompt, kind and open in consulting and coordinating in the final decision with those who, my bones, know them well. Many thanks also to the riders who were on the track and to the staff at the Crossodromo Catini di Ponzano di Fermo, who came to my aid and helped me after my fall. And then a special thanks to two people who are always by my side. One is you, Fabrizio Borra, who, by now accustomed to managing my operations, managed, even remotely, to be my guardian angel. In the coming weeks, I think I will be frequenting the Physiology Centre...And then there's you, Yuri. Friend and unfailing presence who, once again, has been an invaluable support. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart to everyone. Now I'm taking a little break. I'll see you on the track, in a month or so, to get back to the goals of 2023".

The former Ducatista did not just talk about the fracture, but also posted photos that clearly show his right wrist completely misaligned! Who knows what ache.

Andrea, however, has taken it in good spirits and, having archived his winter training, informs us that he will take a 'little break' but rest assured that he will not forget the clawed tyres!
