SBK: SS600, FP2: Sofuoglu leads, Gamarino 5th

In the morning session, the leadership slipped through his fingers by a few thousandths, but in the afternoon session, divided in two because of a red flag after a technical problem for Alex Baldolini, no one was able to do better than Kenan Sofuoglu. The Turkish rider, victorious on the banks of the Santerno last year, managed to find a time of 1’51”647, which was a full half second ahead of the second place rider, Honda-riding Englishman Kyle Smith.

As in the first session, there are three different brands in the top three with Sheridan Morais third astride his Yamaha (+0.737), followed by PJ Jacobsen’s MV and a positive Christian Gamarino, fifth at just 922 thousandths behind Sofuoglu. Okubo finished sixth on his Honda ahead of the first European rider in the championship, namely Alessandro Zaccone in seventh, one second ahead of Federico Caricasulo, who fell victim to a crash just a few minutes from the end.

Much farther back was the Italian’s teammate Mahias, 10th behind Gino Rea and ahead of Jules Cluzel (who had a crash) and Roberto Rolfo.
