MotoGP, Robin Spijkers, former Bezzecchi mechanic becomes Trackhouse coordinator

Spijkers will be taking Meek’s place, who's now in Yamaha. For the team that rose from the ashes of the RNF, the handover is about to happen, as confirmed by one of the managers: “We’re almost there. We’ve also already booked everything for the winter tests.”

MotoGP: Robin Spijkers, former Bezzecchi mechanic becomes Trackhouse coordinator

The rider’s market isn’t the only one shuffling the MotoGP cards. In fact, there are many changes that are taking place behind the scenes among the less exposed professionals of the premier class.

Innovations for 2024 include the transformation of the RNF team – which was excluded by Dorna, IRTA, and FIM at the end of 2023 due to alleged serious breaches – into Trackhouse Racing, as Aprilia’s satellite team, with a new name, but not only for the group led by Justin Marks. One substantial change is the new Coordinator from VR46 Racing.

This role will be filled by Robin Spijkers, Marco Bezzecchi's mechanic until last season, replacing Stan Meek, who moved to the official Yamaha.

To report it with a certain sense of relief and satisfaction was one of the managers of the Wilco Zeelenberg team at Racesport.nl, who then went into detail about the team’s preparation in view of the upcoming championship. “We’re still in the process of ending the relationship with RNF and transferring the equipment. As for the contracts with Trackhouse, on the other hand, we’re here. Now everything is more defined. We’ve also already confirmed the flights and hotels for the winter tests,” he said.

Instead, there’s nothing shocking for the two riders, who’ll still be Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira.
