MotoGP, Bezzecchi: "Marquez? No one is like him in left turns."

"I looked at his data and he was better even than Bagnaia and Martin with the GP24. I personally made progress and identified useful solutions. I hope to reconfirm my form in France. What's new on the bike? Ducati didn't bring anything."

MotoGP: Bezzecchi:

On the podium Sunday and 12th at the end of the test session Marco Bezzecchi left Jerez de La Frontera quite satisfied.

"We took a step forward working on the setting and the position on the bike. Some things worked, others less so, but I'm happy. I'm still struggling a bit with the apex, in any case we found something that can help. That's why I'm positive. The track conditions themselves have been good. Maybe too much so. Did I crash? Yes, but everything is okay. Vibrations? In Texas, but not here," he confided, then dwelling on the critical issues encountered on a track with a lot of grip.

"In this way the track becomes very fast and it is complicated to understand what actually goes well and what doesn't. In general, however, we set very good times. The new tires? I haven't tried them, because I preferred to focus on something else. Overall I think we found the key during the warm up. Now we have to shave away for the last details. We'll see at Le Mans how it goes with the new things that I promoted."

Asked if he had looked at Marquez's data at the end of the race as they have the same bike, the 25-year-old replied, "Of course, Turn 7 and 8 he was doing them faster than me. It was like that for the whole weekend. Let's say that he was not only more incisive than us with the GP23, but also than Bagnaia and Martin, especially at turn 8, because in the left turns he is unbeatable. His performance has to be looked at as a whole, but certainly in those kinds of turns he is superior to those on the right. Everyone has their own characteristics. Some riders are more balanced, some perform better in some specific sections."

Clarifying then what bike the Italian is using, he said, "It's the early 2023 version. For the moment there have been no updates at the technical level of the bike, but I'm sure Dall'Igna will give us something. For now we try to get the most out of what we have. Is there room for improvement? I hope so. I got results here, but I want to confirm my form."
