MotoGP, Tardozzi: "I understand Bagnaia's outburst. In Ducati we are worried about him."

"He has to get back to being determined, while we will have to make sure we provide him with what he needs to win. Marquez? His talent is unquestionable, and he is now back in top physical shape."

MotoGP: Tardozzi:

While Marquez continues to dominate far and wide, for Bagnaia 2025 is proving to be an ordeal and if the Red Bull Ring round, the first after the summer break, was supposed to be the one of recovery, unfortunately for the Italian it turned out to be a continuation of the previous trend. After retiring in the Sprint Race, he ended the GP in eighth place twelve seconds behind the Spaniard.

Approached post-race by GPOne, Ducati Lenovo boss Davide Tardozzi first hailed the result of the eight-time world champion, for the first time on the top step of the podium at the Austrian track, then moved on to the painful aspects.

"Marc needed a red bike to win on this track. This success is confirmation that he is getting back in shape physically, which is what has stopped him in recent years. His talent has never been in doubt and it is clear that he feels comfortable with the bike and the team, so he is simply replicating what he had shown until 2019," was Tardozzi's analysis of the Spaniard's performance.

"In general, his performance does not surprise me precisely because of the maturity he is showing in spite of what he might have done wrong in the past. He is proving that he has matured. As I said, his talent is spotless , he is simply back to what he was before," he added.

In his words, however, the joy for the Cervera ace is full of diappointment for the collapse of Marc's Italian teammate. "It's right to celebrate Marc, but our thoughts are focused on Pecco because what has happened lately is not good for us. The problems he had we have to solve them, as he has shown us several times that he is still fast, like in the pole position in Brno, today with the fast laps and the very good Friday always on this track. That he is going fast is not up for discussion. The point is what we have to give him so that he can be consistent, return to the podium and win races, as we are convinced that he can do it," he argued.

Asked about the Chivasso rider's outburst in the post-GP TV interviews in which he urged Ducati for answers because patience is running out, the Ducati manager tried to throw water on the fire. "It is completely understandable what he is saying, but with a cool mind he will recognize that there is no one on the team who is not concerned about his situation. From Claudio Domenicali on down we would all like to see him in the top 3," he underlined, refuting the Piedmont  rider's state of resignation.

"Pecco is not giving up, we are sure of that. There is mutual trust and we will make sure to put him in a position to be competitive again. It 's clear that he has to put us in a position to help him. United we will succeed," he reiterated.

Finally, on the nature of the issues that are preventing the 28-year-old from expressing himself to the fullest, he revealed, "The psychological side is important. In my opinion he has to come back to being as determined as he was on Friday, which was stupendous, as he himself admitted. The technical side will be up to us, but on Friday he proved that the bike was there and he was there."
