The Elf Marc VDS Racing Team is thrilled to have reached a multi-year agreement with Spanish star Aron Canet from the 2026 Moto2 World Championship onwards

Moto2: Aron Canet joins ELF Marc VDS Racing for 2026 Moto2 title challenge

A multiple winner and consistent title contender in both Moto3 and Moto2 since joining the Grand Prix paddock in 2016, Canet’s undoubted talent and experience made him a clear choice for the Marc VDS challenge on Boscoscuro machinery next year.

The 25-year-old has won five times in Moto2 and after finishing third in the overall standings in 2022 and second in 2024, Canet is once again mounting a strong challenge for World Championship glory with one victory and four other podium finishes in the current campaign.

With 33 podium finishes already in the ultra-competitive intermediate category, Canet is second in the all-time Moto2 podium list, and his impressive CV also includes 14 poles, 32 front row starts and eight fastest laps.

“He shows the determination and speed we want in a rider”

“I’m so happy to welcome Aron to the team - said team boss Van Der Straten - He is a proven winner with fighting spirit so he will be a great addition. He shows the determination and speed we want in a rider so 2026 and beyond will be a very exciting time. I’m looking forward to him fighting at the front in our colours and take it to the top step.”

"I believe this is the start of an exciting partnership between us"

“I’m delighted to join such an experienced and successful team as Marc VDS for the next three years - replied Canet -  It’s an honour for me to sign a long-term agreement with a team that has a proven record of success in Moto2 and their commitment to win matches mine. I believe this is the start of an exciting partnership between us and while now I’m focused on my 2025 season, I’m also motivated to start this new chapter in 2026.”
