"Le pieghe": A 5-meter-tall sculpture in Milan dedicated to Luca Salvadori

Two years after Luca Salvadori’s passing, Milan will dedicate a permanent monument to him at the very spot where, as a child, he first began to nurture his passion for motorcycles.

“Le pieghe”—a sculpture created by contemporary artist Nicola Samorì and donated to the City of Milan by Maurizio Salvadori, father of the rider and YouTuber from Milan who passed away on September 14th, 2024 at the Frohburg circuit in Germany—will be unveiled n September 14th, 2026.

The work will be installed in the green area of the "Curve Gemelle" on Viale Pietro e Maria Curie, a symbolic place for many motorcyclists from Milan and one that was particularly dear to Luca, who had banked his first corners on a motorcycle in that same spot.

Approximately five meters tall and made of aluminum, the sculpture is a sinuous shape reminiscent of an “S” curve. Some components from Salvadori’s motorcycle were also incorporated into the casting, while the figure’s face stylistically resembles that of the rider.

The monument will rest on a Vesuvian stone pedestal bearing the impression of a tire and the inscription, “Here, at the Curve Gemelle, Luca took his first corners.”

The donation was approved by the Milan City Council. “By accepting this donation, the administration sought to fulfill the deep desire of Luca’s family and loved ones to have a place closely connected to his life and sporting career where they can remember him and pay tribute to him,” explained Marco Mazzei, councilor for public spaces explained, emphasizing how the work of art will also enrich the city’s artistic heritage, thanks to the contribution of an internationally renowned artist like Samorì.

The Luca Salvadori Foundation is also dedicated to the memory of Luca Salvadori.  It was established to provide tangible support to victims of motorcycle accidents and to promote a culture of safety on two wheels. The Memorial honoring his memory can be visited inside the Trident Motorsport factory.
