Marco Morelli will be joing Eddie O'Shea until the end of the season. After lining up Leonardo Abruzzo at Balaton Park, once Vicente Perez Selfa left, the MLav Racing team has decided to promote the Argentinean rider, the team's current FIM JuniorGP rider, to the Moto3 World Championship starting with the upcoming Catalan Grand Prix.
Morelli, who already got the chance to discover the Moto3 World Championship debuting with the BOE Motorsports team in Brno - where he earned his first three points in the World Championship with a 13th place finish - will ride the Honda of Michael Laverty's team in all the remaining rounds on the calendar, with the exception of Misano since, that weekend, he'll be competing in the final round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he's 6th place in the standings with a total of 100 points.
Replacing Marco in the San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP will be British rider Evan Belford, his current teammate in the FIM JuniorGP.
"I'm very happy to have this opportunity. For me, it's a great challenge that will allow me to gain experience in the World Championship. I'm looking forward to debuting in Barcelona with the team and experiencing the following transfers. I'll give it one hundred percent and, along with the team, we'll work as hard as possible to give the best of ourselves," Morelli commented. He's is ready to prove that he has what it takes to join O'Shea again next year.
