Everything seemed set for SIC58 Squadra Corse this year, but Noah Dettwiler's accident last October in Malaysia forced Team Owner Paolo Simoncelli to rethink the line-up for the upccoming season.
This was especially true after the young Swiss rider decided, in early December, to give up racing this year, in order to focus on his fully recovering from the numerous fractures he had sustained.
Forced to quickly find a replacement to partner with Casey O'Gorman - who had already been announced - the manager from Romagna finally found a solution. And, as it's customary nowadays, he disclosed it via social media.
"Finally, it's time to say it... For the 2026 season, we have once again chosen to believe in a young rider, with hunger, talent, and a long road ahead," is what was published on the team's official Facebook and Instagram profiles.
The post contined: "We are ready to do our part and work together, day by day, giving him the best conditions to grow and show his true potential. We are happy to support you on your World Championship journey. Welcome to the team, Leo Rammerstorfer!"
The Austrian rider will, therefore, be making his Moto3 debut after gaining experience in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. In 2025, he was able make himself known in Aragon with a 5th place finish, and also in the JuniorGP, where he achieved a 4th place finish as his best result at the Magny-Cours circuit.
