Moto3, Quiles too young for World Championship: Rosenthaler replacing him in first 2 GPs

Maximo will turn 17 on March 19th, so he's going to have to skip the Thailand and Argentina rounds. He'll make his debut with the Aspar team in Austin.

Moto3: Quiles too young for World Championship: Rosenthaler replacing him in first 2 GPs

Team CFMOTO Aspar will be able to count on Jakob Rosenthaler for the first two rounds of the 2025 season. The 18-year-old Austrian rider will be replacing Máximo Quiles, who hasn't yet reached the minimum age to participate in the Moto3 World Championship. The Spanish rider's debut will have to wait until the Grand Prix of the Americas, which will take place during the last week of March.

Rosenthaler finished last season's JuniorGP Championship in the top ten overall and ended up on the podium in the last race in Estoril. He also already has experience in the World Championship from when he debuted in the 2024 Grand Prix of Austria and then raced in the San Marino Grand Prix as a wildcard.

Jorge 'Aspar' Martínez said, "We'll miss Maximo Quiles during these two races. We look forward to March 19th so that he can reach the minimum age and make his World Championship debut with Team CFMOTO Aspar. Meanwhile, we'll have Jakob Rosenthaler with usin Thailand and Argentina. Jakob ended the last JuniorGP season on the podium in Estoril and already knows what it means to race in a Grand Prix. These are going to be two races with no pressure for him, but we want him to learn every time he gets on the track and give it his all to get the best result possible."

Jakob Rosenthaler commented, "I received a phone call from Nico Terol, asking if I wanted to race the first two GPs as a replacement rider for Team CFMOTO Aspar. I had nothing else to say except, 'yes, of course!' I'm extremely grateful to be able to race with such an amazing team, and I look forward to my first races outside of Europe. I'm happy that the team believes in me, and it's definitely going to be a great time. This opportunity will allow me to gain a lot of experience."
