David Alonso and Aspar champions solidarity: they shovel mud in Valencia

The Moto3 world champion rolled up his sleeves along with Jorge Martinez to help out, "it was a tough weekend, but it brought out the more human side of the population, united for the cause."

From EICMA and two-wheeled beauties to a commitment among the mud of Valencia is a short step. Fresh Moto3 world champion David Alonso didn't let anyone tell him twice and armed with a shovel and a lot of good will he joined his boss, Aspar Martinez, to lend a hand in cleaning up the streets still unfit for use after the flood that hit the area last late October, 67 years after another tragic flood that tore the region apart.

"Together with my boss Jorge Martínez Aspar we are joyfully helping Valencia. This weekend was tough, but equally beautiful because it showed the most human component of the people involved in the cause," the post posted on Instagram by the 18-year-old who then invited his fans to participate in the GoFundMe fundraiser.

It should be recalled that the Aspar team's headquarters is located in Picassent, some 20 kilometers from the most affected town.
