In 2025, Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup champion Alvaro Carpe will be joining Jose Antonio Rueda on the Ajo team in the Moto3 but, before next year, he's going to be a wild card in the final round of the season scheduled in Barcelona next week. With a win in his pocket in 2023 and four victories in the latest edition of the rookies cup, the 17-year-old rider is preparing to race in the MotoGP.
"Having signed with a great team means a lot to me, since I'll be among the best on the grid. Personally, I'm continuing to raise the level I achieved this year. I can't wait to be at the start in Thailand. I'll face my championship as a rookie with great enthusiasm, training hard, and always giving i my all. I'm also excited to be a wild card. It's been dream since childhood, and racing with an important team with so much history makes me feel even prouder," the current JuniorGP leader said, with just two rounds left to the season.
"I'm delighted to welcome another Rookies Cup champion. I think Alvaro was the obvious choice because of the potential, speed, and maturity he has shown in racing, as well as his achievements in the KTM GP Academy program. He's achieved many wins and podiums in recent years, but what convinced us most is his dedication and work towards achieving his goals. We're proud to be able to continue in our efforts to bring out the best in the riders. I think they'll make a great team with Rueda. They can learn so much from each other," Aki Ajo - who's launched the likes of Pedro Acosta, Daniel Holgado, and Deniz Öncü - said.
