MotoGP, Martin: “I fee bad, Ducati lost faith in me at some point”

“What I regret is the climate of war created by the media in recent months around this situation, regarding the choice between me or Enea. I’ll be treated the same as Bastianini in Pramac, but I’m also looking at other teams.”

MotoGP: Martin: “I fee bad, Ducati lost faith in me at some point”

The MotoGP arrives in Misano about a week after the official announcement that Enea Bastianini is joining Ducati. While the rider from Romagna will be on the factory team next year, Jorge Martin will have to console himself with Pramac for 2023.

The rider from Spain feels bad, but he still wants to do well in continuing his adventure with Pramac.

I can’t hide that I feel bad about this choice,” he said. “Obviously, I’m not referring to the fact that Ducati preferred Enea, since he won three races this year, and he certainly deserves it. What I regret is the climate of war created by the media in recent months around this situation, namely, the choice between me or him. In the end, I’m staying in Pramac, and I’m happy with this option.”

Jorge has very clear ideas about Pramac
“I want to make history with them and win the World Championship next year. I’ll have the same support as Bastianini, so I think I have what it takes to do well and be competitive. I can’t deny that the decision was complicated.

Martin then reveals a backstory.
At the beginning of the Championship, I spoke with Ducati to join the official team and they seemed well inclined. Then something changed, probably because of the injuries. It’s as if I got the feeling that they lost trust in me, despite being constant from Barcelona onwards.

Martin is obviously shopping around.
I’ve kept the doors open, also speaking with other private teams, and I can’t exclude I won’t do it in the future, even if my 2023 will still be with Ducati on the Pramac team.
