MotoAmerica: Darryn Binder in the footsteps of Danilo Petrucci signs for HSBK Warhorse

Darryn Binder will leave the MotoGP paddock in 2026 to start a new adventure in the United States: the South African, brother of Brad, following in the footsteps of Danilo Petrucci, will race in the MotoAmerica Supersport championship with the Warhorse Ducati team. The same one Petrux raced with.

Binder can boast 11 seasons in the world championship between Moto3, Moto2 and the premier class in which he raced in 2022 with the RNF Yamaha team. A career marked by ups and downs before the resounding jump to MotoGP, the first case since Jack Miller in 2015. In 2022 he achieved three points finishes, with a tenth place in the rain in Indonesia as his best result.

Left without a seat after RNF switched from Yamaha to Aprilia, Binder returned to Moto2 without being able to revive his career: a fifth-place finish as best result and just 19 points scored in 2025. Having missed out on the opportunity to stay in the world championship, at the age of 27 he will start again in MotoAmerica.

"I am very excited to start this new chapter with Celtic Racing, Economy Lube + Tire and Warhorse HSBK Ducati," Binder declared, "My journey through Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP has taught me a lot and I feel ready to bring all that experience into MotoAmerica. The Panigale V2 is a bike with proven speed and championship history. The goal is simple: I want to race at the front, enjoy the battle and build something strong for the future."
