During the Valencian Community Grand Prix, the last round of the MotoGP World Championship held Sunday in Cheste, Jorge Martín had a Pinarello bike worth about 20,000 euros stolen.
According to Las Provincias and sources close to the rider, someone broke into the rear compartment of the aprilista's motorhome, where Martín routinely keeps the bikes he trains with. The thieves allegedly aimed directly at the custom model, leaving behind other valuables.
Police intervened in the paddock to collect witnesses and start the investigation. The theft is surprising, given the high level of control at the entrance to the area, where each vehicle must be identified through special authorization.
Martín, like many MotoGP riders, uses road bikes for athletic training. Bicycles are a common presence in the paddocks: riders often use them to ride around the circuits during practice days, especially on Thursdays.
