One would almost have to bother Max Pezzali and 883 to describe the hat trick of wins scored byToprak Razgatlioglu over the French weekend. Apparently "there is just no more story in this town" and even many observers are not enjoying it anymore because the French Round was one of the most boring since the beginning of the year to date.
Someone who is enjoying the moment, however, is namely the world champion, who has pulled out a gap in the standings with an advantage of 39 points.
"Before coming here my goal was to make a hat trick - he began - yesterday, however, I wasn't so serene and relaxed because I feared Race 2 a lot. Obviously I was expecting Bulega's second place, just like in the Superpole Race in the morning. That said, I'm honest in saying that I didn't expect Nicolò second after the long run in the Sprint, but in the end he still made it."
Toprak, now the road to the title seems to be downhill and you could even make do....
"I don't want to make any calculations because I want to win at Aragon at the end of the month, considering that we did testing last week as well. There will be some aspects to improve on the bike, but I want to be optimistic because I have never won there."
MotorLand seems to be the most eagerly-awaited terrain for the Panigale bikes.
"All the Ducatis are waiting for Aragon, because it is their track. Of course I will try to surprise them, trying to win, because then I will destroy their plan. Therefore I also want to win in three weeks."
Have you solved the engine brake problems?
"Unfortunately we didn't improve today, in fact I experienced problems in some corners, risking crashing and also finding myself struggling with the bike. In the end, however, it went well."
You ended the race with a stoppie, do you think penalties may come like in the past?
"I think after the 8-second margin there are no penalties. At the end I had a wide margin and there was no danger."
Meanwhile, earlier in the day yesterday, Toprak told our TGPOne that he spoke with Quartararo right after the Sprint.
"Yesterday I wrote to him right after the race and congratulated him on a great job. With him as with all the other MotoGP riders I have a great relationship. In fact, I am curious to see him with the V4."
