The Tissot Pole of Poles prize giving ceremony helped round off a stunning season of racing at the MotoG Awards in Barcelona last weekend.

The Official Timekeeper and Watch Supplier to MotoGP celebrated speed and skill in qualifying in front at a star-studded audience at the breathtaking Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.

MotoGP marked its 75th anniversary in 2024 and record crowds were once again to treated to an incredible spectacle, with the Tissot Sprint providing thrilling drama during an action-packed Saturday afternoon schedule.

And the battle to win the exclusive range of Tissot Pole Position watches in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 was as exciting and tense as ever, with 26 different riders starting from pole position in the 20-round season which started under the lights at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar on March 9.

It was a 2024 to remember for Jorge Martin, who became the first Independent Team rider to win the premier class crown since Italian legend Valentino Rossi in 2001. Martin ended the season on top of the world and the Spaniard was also top qualifier, with seven pole positions.

Having become just the third Ducati rider to win the MotoGP title and fifth Spaniard in history to win prevail in the premier class, Martin was presented with a T-Race MotoGP Chronograph 2024 Limited Edition watch by Matt George, Vice President Marketing Sports Partnerships at Tissot.

Martin is famous for his explosive one lap pace, and he qualified on the front row 13 times in 2024 and in nine rounds after qualifying inside the top three he scored a podium finish in both the Tissot Sprint and feature Grand Prix.

Ducati once again had a dominant campaign, and the Bologna factory topped qualifying at 16 of 20 races. Six poles went to Pecco Bagnaia, two to a resurgent Marc Marquez and Tissot Ambassador Enea Bastianini started on pole once at round two in Portugal.

The only non-Ducati poles were taken by factory Aprilia duo Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales, while rising star Pedro Acosta became the third youngest rider in premier class history to start from pole when the GasGas rider dazzled in Q2 in Japan.
