SBK, BMW’s announcement of the year: Toprak Razgatlioglu!

Toprak Razgatlioglu and Yamaha’s separation was announced this morning. Toprak will be BMW’s new rider starting next season.

The German constructor has decided to focus on the Turkish rider’s qualities in order to aspire at the championship dream. This is definitely the scoop of the year in the SBK paddock, as Toprak chooses a new adventure with the colors of the German brand.

“I extend a warm welcome to Toprak Razgatlioglu,” said Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad. “We're delighted to welcome him to the official WorldSBK team from next season. I am very proud that Toprak has chosen to join BMW Motorrad. This is a step forward for our project and a strong commitment by BMW Motorrad Motorsport in the World Superbike Championship.”

Marc Bongers stated: “Toprak is undoubtedly one of the best riders at the moment, as he demonstrated by winning the 2021 World Championship title. He’s not only a fast rider, but also a great person off the track. We’re convinced that Toprak will fit very quickly into the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family. We look forward to starting our collaboration and our future together.”
