Moto2: Test: Sam Lowes and Augusto Fernandez marathoners in Barcelona

From Le Mans to Barcelona: the Marc VDS team made a stop yesterday at Montmelò to prepare for the Catalan Grand Prix scheduled for June 6th. The track conditions were good, despite the wind, and the two riders pulled out all the stops. Augusto Fernandez completed 104 laps and Sam Lowes 101.

The British rider worked mainly on the set-up of his Kalex to find more grip.

It was a good test,”  Lowes said. “In the afternoon, I struggled a bit with the wind, but it was like that for most of the test, and I found some things are okay, while others didn’t work as I hoped. The team did a really good job, and we managed to find something that could help me. Now I’ll rest for a few days, and I’m confident I can be strong at Mugello.”

Fernandez concentrated on experimenting on the geometry of the bike and on the suspension.

We did some tests that we didn’t have time for on the race weekends,” the Spanish rider explained. “We found positive ways to improve the basic set-up, and I feel that we’ve progressed, which makes me very happy and confident for the upcoming races.”
