In less than a month, the World Endurance Championship will make a stop in France for the Bol d'Or, scheduled for next September 21st and 22nd. On this occasion, Loris Baz will ride for the YART Yamaha team (along with Marvin Fritz and Niccolò Canepa), taking Brock Parkes', who's busy in the second-to-last round of the Asia Road Racing Championship on the same weekend.

Baz already has experience in endurance. In 2013. he won the Bol d'Or and, in 2011, he raced in the Le Mans 24 Hours with the YART team. To become more confident with the R1, Loris will take part in two days of tests on the Le Castellet track on September 3rd and 4th.

"I'm really happy to be back in the endurance race with the Yamaha YART team at Bol d'Or," said the French rider. "It wasn't in my plans, but I've always loved the EWC. I have good memories of the races in that championship, and I have a good relationship with Mandy (Kainz, the team manager ed.) and the guys at Yamaha. So, when they called me, and when my team, Ten Kate Yamaha, gave me permission, of course I said yes. September will be a difficult month, but I trained hard during the summer, so it won't be a problem. I'm happy to be back with Mandy. I always call him Dad because he was one of the few to give young riders the opportunity to race in the EWC, like I did when I was 18 years old. I was on the podium at the Le Mans 24 Hours, and it will be nice to return to YART Yamaha for the Bol d'Or, where the goal is to ensure Yamaha's victory with Niccolò and Marvin."
