Lorenzo, despite a far from easy start to the season, has not lost his good humour. First he jokes about his birthday: “30 is the new 20”, then he touched on the last lap battle at Jerez with Marquez in 2014: “I'm far off now, I'm not worried”.
Jorge knows that he needs to react to the difficulties and not give up, and that's exactly what he's doing.
“Despite it all, I'm pleased because I feel the support of the whole team, they have faith in me - he explains - I know we haven't started well, because expectations were high when I arrived but it's not easy. I've realised this is a special bike and I still need to adapt. But I have a good attitude, an open mentality and I'll work to improve as fast as possible”.
The Majorcan is striving to see the glass half full.
“At Austin I was fast in qualifying and finished the race a few seconds from Dovizioso, who knows the bike inside out - he recalls - The Ducati is not the best bike for my riding style, but I'm improving”.
The Desmosedici has never got on particularly well at Jerez.
“It's true,but I've always done well so I'll try to compensate - he promises - A few weeks ago, we had a test here, but I've changed by seat position since then so it will be interesting to see how I get on”.
Lorenzo has clear ideas about what he's lacking.
“In my opinion, not having the winglets has caused some problems at the front - he sustains - We're missing weight and don't have traction, finding that it our first goal. As far as I'm concerned, I want to be the fastest Ducati rider”.
