MotoGP, Bastianini: "I always have the same problem, I can't brake like I want to"

"The situation o f the previous two GPs is recurring here in Texas. We have to find a solution. The sensations on the track? I'm too slow in the third sector, and I lack consistency."

MotoGP: Bastianini:

Fourth and eighth in the first day of free practice in Austin, Enea Bastianini said he was satisfied with the sensations he felt riding his factory Ducati.

"I'm happy with how it went," he said, before going into detail about what he still lacks for a more valuable performance. "I'm among the slowest of the group in the third sector, and I know I can improve a bit. Overall, my performance is erratic on the lap, so we'll have to try to adjust that."

The Ducati rider has always performed well at the COTA, especially in 2022, when he reached his second MotoGP victory. "I don't remember much about that weekend, when it comes to sensations with the bike. But I can say that, with the GP24, I can't brake as I'd like to, and this is what is predominantly penalizing me. That was also the case in Qatar and Portimao, so we'll have to work in that area. Also because, looking at the data, it turns out that the others are able to give something more. Consequently, we'll have to find a solution."

Finally, about the uphill start that characterizes the American track and the use of the holeshot, the 26-year-old concluded, "On every circuit, the start is crucial, and the holeshot should always be activated."
