MotoGP, Di Giannantonio: “I have nothing less than the other Ducati riders”

“Having seven more Ducati riders is just an incentive and nothing more. I use my instinct, knowing that each of us has something that the other doesn’t.”

MotoGP: Di Giannantonio: “I have nothing less than the other Ducati riders”

Fabio Di Giannantonio was calm and carefree at the first seasonal appointment in Losail. He was competitive on the GP23 during the winter, confirming last year’s season finale in crescendo. In fact, he won in Losail the last time.

Here we are, we’re ready,” the rider from Rome said. “Compared to other years, I’m calmer and carefree, and maybe this is all due to the greater awareness I have inside me. In fact, I’m going through a good time in my life. The tests went in the right direction and, even at home, everything is going well. Losail is a track that evokes great memories, given that we did a great job last year, then achieving success in the race. Obviously, I want to keep my feet on the ground, knowing that it’s going to be more difficult, because the other constructors have improved, and it won’t be easy.”

He has a clear goal in his mind.
I’d like to continue learning, because there’s never an end. I’d like to learn on a riding level, because there are other riders who are more effective than me. That said that, I’d like to start from where I left off, trying to be constant and at a good level, something I missed last season.”

Fabio was then asked what quality he’d steal from the other seven Ducati riders.
We’re eight very strong Ducati riders, and each of us has something more than the other. In the end, we focus on a couple of riders to follow, but each of us has his own qualities. Personally, I’m a rider who rides with instinct, and it often becomes difficult to bring about change. We have to, therefore, do  a precise study to understand if that change we want, in the end, can be useful or not.”

Speaking of the Ducati riders, we’re convinced there won’t be a shortage of skirmishes.
Having so many riders will be a stimulus and nothing more. Personally, I don’t feel any less than any of the others, since the speed is similar, and I feel like one of them. Having someone like Bezz in the garage will be useful to understand how and where to improve when he’s more competitive.”
