Franco Morbidelli can breathe a sigh of relief after a violent fall on Tuesday in Portimão, during a private test session on the Portuguese track. The Roman rider from Rome is ready to return to Italy after having passed his last medical check-up at the Alvor hospital, and the two CT scans between Tuesday and Wednesday, to exclude any damage caused by the accident.
Morbidelli had a bad fall after losing control of his Panigale V4S at Turn 9. But fortunately it didn’t have serious consequences for the Pramac racing team, also thanks to the prompt intervention of Marc Marquez and the stewards. The new Gresini team rider was, in fact, the first to rescue Franky on the track, as he himself wanted to emphasize with a message posted on Instagram.
“Thank you all for the messages. Thanks to the help of the stewards, I was able to overcome this bad fall without any problem. And thanks also to the help of Marc Marquez on the track! Thank you my friend!”
We hope to see him in action again as early as Tuesday, February 6th for the first of three days of MotoGP tests in Sepang.
