MotoGP: Michele Pirro in Portimão: “My ankle is fine, I’m ready for the Sepang tests”

After the Christmas break, Michele Pirro returned to his bike and did so on the adrenaline-fueled Portuguese circuit of Portimão. Riding the Ducati Panigale V4 S, the official Ducati MotoGP rider began to prepare for the 2024 season. Pirro used these two days to test his physical condition and also to spend precious hours in the company of friends and fellow riders.

It was two days of very important tests for me,” the tester from Puglia commented. “For the first time since my ankle injury during the Civ finale in Imola, I rode without taking painkillers! I’m returning home from Portimão with good feelings, even if, at the end of the day, my foot tended to swell anyway. But the fundamental aspect was to return to wearing the boot I used before Imola. A sign that the swelling has practically disappeared. So, it was a very positive weekend,  also thinking that, at the beginning of February, I’ll be in Sepang for the Ducati MotoGP tests, and I realized in Portimão that my physical condition is returning to great levels. These tests proved to be a cure-all, not only for my body, but also for my spirit, since I shared the circuit with other riders I know well and with many friends, spending carefree and relaxing hours. All winning ingredients to start the season in the best way possible.

So don’t miss the MotoGP and, of course, Michele Pirro, from February 1st to 3rd when, in Sepang, Malaysia, they’ll be taking to the track for the first annual shake down.
