SBK, Petrucci smiles: “This is the first test where I was really fast”

Danilo Petrucci smiles, and he has every right to do so. At the end of the second day of testing in Aragon, the Barni rider set the second fastest time, with a time that was the same as Alvaro Bautista’s to the thousandth: 1’49”168.

Apparently, the rider from Terni finally found the road he had been pursuing for so long, and now all he has to do is follow it until the end of the season: “I’m very satisfied,” he said. “This is the first test where I was really fast. We’ve worked a lot and made comparisons, trying changes in set-up and electronics.”

The result was encouraging: “All things put together led me to be fast even with new tires and to make better use of the SCQ qualifying tire, with which I did my best time. So far, this was our weak point, but thanks to the team’s work, I feel like the bike is becoming more mine. and we’ve improved a lot, especially in entering corners.”

Marco Barni said: “The work the team has done has been really important. Some of the things we tested brought benefits, others less, but the truth is that Danilo is making the difference, since he’s continuously adapting to this bike. We have a deficit due to the cut in engine revs, and we have to try to recover when  braking and distance. This test gave us important answers.”
