SBK: STK1000: Marconi hit, helicoptered to Bologna

If it was Andrea Tucci who had the paddock worried yesterday with his crash, today the unlucky task fell to Luca Marconi. In fact, during the first start of the Stock1000 race, the Italian rider fell coming out of tamburello corner and was hit by a faultless Mike Jones who came upon him an instant later. Track medical staff quickly provided first aid to the rider who had remained on the ground, then transporting him to the medical center.

The rider was conscious when he arrived, but given his state of agitation, the decision was made to sedate him. Luca was then transported by helicopter to the Bologna hospital, where his condition will be better ascertained, since the possibility of fractures or breaks is plausible. This season Luca, formerly in the 125 championship, races on the team blacksheep Yamaha, with which he finished twelfth twice in the first two races before today.
