Pedrosa: a very strenuous GP for me

The tough Valencia track is not one of the best to return to after fracturing a shoulder, but Dani Pedrosa is doing his best and his 8th place finish in qualifying is nothing to be sniffed at. The Honda rider is having to cope with his physical condition, and is not yet back to full shape.

I feel tires, really tired - he admits - This weekend is really strenuous for me and, today, after two practice sessions, I wasn't fresh for qualifying. I'm also in some pain”.

Tomorrow he'll need to grit your teeth for 30 laps.

It will be important to stay focused - he explains - and to understand which tyre to use, that will be key. At the rear, the soft ensures the best performance but is at the limit over race distance, while the hard solution is the exact opposite. It's important to find a setting that helps us to manage it”.

Dani is less positive about the new front tyres brought by Michelin.

They don't give me good sensations - he explains - There's some improvement, but in general they have more negative points than the current tyres. In braking, it's very easy to lock the front wheel with those tyres”.
