Maggiori informazioni appena possibile

This is the latest press release from Dorna this afternoon:

ENGLISH - MotoGP rider Alex De Angelis underwent further medical checks this morning at Dokkyo Medical University Hospital.
An MRI was performed, showing an intracranial bleeding. However, the entity of this bleeding has to be better evaluated, and the rider will undergo a neurosurgical evaluation later on this evening.

Dr. Michele Zasa from Clinica Mobile is going to stay with the rider for the next few days, in order to follow the clinical evolution of the patient. Dr. Zasa explained that: "the condition of Alex at this time is stable, he has been sedated, in part because of the pain and to keep the brain in a state of rest, but he is not intubated. The hemorrhage is not a strange event when there are neurological problems, and today he will be visited by a specialist at 8 pm local time".
Surgery for now is only a possibility, "we expect to understand the extent of the bleeding before drawing any conclusion - said the head of the Clinica Mobile  - In the next few  days I'll be in the hospital with De Angelis along with Giampiero Sacchi. However, I can confirm that there is no spinal problem as a result of fractures of the vertebrae".

The doctor said he was "worried, as is normal in such cases, but at the moment there is still no definitive diagnosis. We wait, sometimes hemorrhages resolve themselves. I can also confirm that after the accident Alex spoke and recognized people, even in the hours after he had no memory problems, but he could not remember the incident".
