MotoGP, Aldeguer: "Is my set-up the same as Alex Marquez's? Everyone has their own style."

"My bike is more like Marc's, but it's the result of working with the engineers. I work for myself and don't look at what others are doing. Have I improved? Experience helps, and I understand many more things."

MotoGP: Aldeguer:

Fermin Aldeguer fell last Sunday but, during Saturday's Sprint, hefinished 5th, confirming the progressive growth that was especially seen in Qatar. During Monday's test on the Jerez de la Frontera track, the Gresini Racing rider finished 7th, with good feelings for events to come.

"I only accumulated kilometers. After the weekend, my body wasn't one hundred percent, but Iìm satisfied with what we did. We worked in view of Le Mans and on the set-up of the bike to arrive at the next event at our best, even if the French track isn't one of my favorites. Overall, the wind distorted the numbers on the field and didn't allow us to push hard, but I'm happy," the Iberian rider said.

When asked if there was any particular point to work on more after Sunday's race, he replied: "Like what was said, the focus was on set-up and different solutions than those used in the race but, mostly, we were looking towards the transalpine round. We made a few small changes so as not to lose direction and good feelings. I proved I was fast when I pushed, but the thought is the continuation of the season," he said.

The former Moto2 rider demonstrated that he's growing. "Experience helps, plus, now we have a good foundation on the bike. Overall, I can understand the brakes and electronics better, and my comments to the technicians are gradually more accurate. I'm currently in a good phase, but I have to keep workingso as not lose these feelings," he acknowledged.

His adapting to the MotoGP is proving to be smooth and without any particular complexities. "I'm trying to adapt my riding style by trying to improve the bike's lift and trajectories. Let's say we've been very competitive here, but we have to think about the future," he revealed, then later denying that he took Alex Marquez as an absolute reference for the set-up.

"Every rider has his own style, and everyone has to work for themselves and in their own direction. You can, of course, make a comparison, but I focus on myself, and I don't look at others," he made a point of saying. "I have to say that my bike is very similar to Marc Marquez's, but not because I want to imitate him. In the MotoGP, there are a lot of things to pay attention to but, at the same time, you can count on the assistance of the engineers. So, I got at the point I'm at on my own."
