MotoGP, Domenicali: "Marquez? A mistake due to too much confidence, let's hope it doesn't happen again"

"A third place that is a bit too tight for Bagnaia, the bike is not giving him the feeling he would like. Bravo Alex. Breaking Honda's record? We'll go to Le Mans thinking only about having a good race."

MotoGP: Domenicali:

Claudio Domenicali gloats nonetheless. It may be true that on the top step of the podium there is no Marc or Pecco, but there is still a Ducati, namely that of Alex Marquez. The success of the Gresini rider allows the Borgo Panigale manufacturer to equal the record of 22 consecutive victories that belonged to Honda. The series does not seem destined to end considering the performance of the Desmosedici and its riders

"This achievement is a wonderful moment," the CEO told us, "It is the fruit of work that started from afar with a good bike and strong riders. However, today Quartararo turned out to be strong and this means that the others are working hard, enjoying the concessions among other things. Not everyone remembers that we are not competing in a Championship with the same rules. In fact, there are manufacturers who have the opportunity to test with official riders and develop engines, using more of them. As a result, I think this gap will narrow and the other manufacturers will also come up to our level."

Surprised by Alex's victory?
"He had already shown that he had some great races. Here in Jerez he rode very well, bravo!"

The opposite fate instead for Marc....
"Marc is extraordinary, he is riding very well. Every now and then he makes a few small mistakes due to overconfidence. However, he is showing that he has the bike in hand. Let's say that every now and then a little mistake can happen. Hopefully we'll be okay with that for a while!"

Instead, it was a bittersweet weekend for Bagnaia.
"Pecco here in Jerez had won the last three races and this third place is too tight for him. Unfortunately, the bike doesn't give him the feeling he would like to make overtakes as he got us used to last year. So they are working to resolve the situation."

Are you dreaming of a 23rd consecutive win at Le Mans?
"We go to France to have a good race and we'll see. The secret is a secret and it's in the safe."
