MotoGP, Aldeguer: "I ride the Ducati differently than Marquez, but I'm fast."

"In the end everyone has their own style and I need time. Today I risked a highside at the start, but what matters is that we can aim for the top five again tomorrow."

MotoGP: Aldeguer:

A fifth place obtained with heart and determination. Hats off to what Fermin Aldeguer did on this Saturday, when he was able to get the better of Fabio Di Giannantonio's Ducati.

The Gresini rookie is making important steps forward and today here came another confirmation from the former Moto2 rider.

"At the start I tried to attack Morbidelli, braking late, risking losing the rear and at the same time even picking up a highside," he recalled. "Luckily I avoided crashing, then managed to lead my own race. However, I had good feelings at the start and tried to be fast right away. Obviously, though, it is not easy to duel with Morbidelli, especially when you are under one second, as the tire pressure rises a lot. In the end, though, it's part of my learning curve, as I have to gather as much information as possible race by race."

What is the balance of this Saturday?
"I think we can fight for the top five again tomorrow. In the end this is only my fifth GP and we have to improve step by step."

What's different from Moto2, where you usually carry a lot of corner speed?
"Obviously I have to adapt my style to MotoGP, because it is different. I maybe tend to open the throttle right away and do different things than Marc and the other Ducati riders. Nevertheless, we are still fast. I have to be smoother, but in the end every rider has his own style."
