MotoGP, Aleix Espargarò will make his race debut with Honda in the Jerez GP

For Aleix Espargarò, the time has come for his first Grand Prix with Honda. The Spaniard, who retired at the end of last year, is committed to HRC as a test rider, and a few wild cards were planned during the season. The first will be in a week's time, in Jerez for the Spanish GP.

Giving the official news was HRC itself: "After a busy winter working away with the Honda HRC Test Team, Aleix Espargarò will make his racing debut with the Honda RC213V at the Spanish Grand Prix. A valuable boost as we keep working on developments and improvements to return to the front."

The Spaniard will join factory team riders Joan Mir and Luca Marini and LCR riders Johann Zarco and Somkiat Chantra.
