SBK, Puccetti: "Toprak is hanging in the balance. Sofuoglu has already found his heir."

"I think we'll know the whole truth in Cremona. In 2026, I want a second Kawasaki with an established rider. The new partnership with Kenan is also for his son, Zayn, destined for the Formula 1."

SBK: Puccetti:

Puccetti Management SRL: this is the company that was presented last weekend in Assen, launched by Manuel Puccetti in collaboration with Kenan Sofuoglu. The two decided to join forces, inaugurating this new entity, which will manage the sponsorship of the Turkish riders.

We exchanged a few words with Manuel about it.

"It's an idea that Kenan and I had been pursuing for some time," Puccetti told us. "So, we decided to follow up on this more than ten-year collaboration, starting with management dedicated exclusively to Turkish riders. In addition to motorcycles, we're also opening up to karting and cars, given the projects related to his son, Zayn. He's a very young boy, who just turned six, with an uncommon talent, destined for the Formula 1. His path is mapped out. All he needs to do is continue. He's already a star in Turkey."

Manuel, there are rumors in Turkey that Sofuoglu has already found Toprak's heir. Is that true?
"What I can tell you is that Kenan is helping grow a 12-year-old boy, exactly like he did with Toprak. He's really talented, and we'll be seeing him on the track soon. I can't tell you more."

Speaking, instead, of the SBK, does Kawasaki currently have to pursue?
"The standings say we're behind, but the times say Gerloff is faster than Alex Lowes last year and Rea two years ago. All with the same bike. Among other things, Garrett is more competitive than when he was in BMW and Yamaha. Last Saturday, we had a meeting with everyone from management to ask for more effort from the company more development. The only thing is that the others are faster."

You'll be with Kawasaki also in 2026. Can we confirm that?
"We'll talk about it in June. Our goal is to double, making a second bike with a top rider. With Garrett, we want to renew, then we'll assess how the market evolves for the second rider. We're certainly not looking for a gamble but for an established rider in the championship."

And what will Torak do in 2026?
"We'll know his future in Cremona. I think he's now hanging in the balance between the MotoGP and the SBK, since he has two offers from the other paddock. At the same time, there are offers from the Superbike. So, we'll see what'll happen, because anything can happen right now."
