MotoGP: UPDATE - Vinales penalized, Bagnaia becomes 2nd and Morbidelli on the podium

At the end of the race it was reported that Vinales was under investigation for allegedly having tire pressure below the allowed limits. He took the podium, attended the press conference, and then received the news that he had lost second place. It took the Stewards about 40 minutes to make the decision and impose 16 seconds of penalty on Maverick that demoted the Tech3 team rider out of the points zone, to 14th place. Needless to say, this type of penalty needs to be ascertained and judged more quickly.

The penalty means an important change in the standings with Bagnaia being promoted to 2nd place (and thus gaining 4 points in the championship, moving to -26 from Marc Marquez), while Franco Morbidelli climbs onto the podium in 3rd place. Below is the updated standings.

The world championship standings also change, with Alex Marquez making up one point over Marc and Bagnaia 4. Below is the updated version.
