MotoGP, Tests in Hungary, test riders at Balaton Park Circuit in June

To prepare for the Grand Prix at the end of August, MotoGP manufacturers and Michelin will have a test day with test riders

MotoGP: Tests in Hungary, test riders at Balaton Park Circuit in June

Hungary is set to return to the MotoGP calendar. The MotoGP Grand Prix is scheduled for the weekend of August 24th, preceded by the SBK round on July 27th. Prototypes had raced in Hungary only twice before, in 1990 and 1992, at the Hungaroring circuit. This time, the new Balaton Park Circuit will, instead, be hosting the top two motorcycling series.

The facility is currently being modernized, which also involves the track, in order to increase safety in a couple of areas.

Everything seems to be going according to plan, to the extent that a test has been set for June in which MotoGP test riders will participate. It's going to be the first chance for manufacturers and Michelin to get an idea of the Hungarian track, which measures 4.115 km and boasts 6 right-hand and 10 left-hand turns. The test day will allow the manufacturers to start working on the bikes and Michelin to figure out which tires to bring for the GP.
